Emerging Information Systems Inc. (EISI), the privately held financial planning software maker based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, said August 31 that its Emerging Information Systems (USA) subsidiary has acquired Financial Profiles Inc., the planning software developer based in Carlsbad, California. Terms of the deal were not announced.

EISI’s flagship offering is NaviPlan; Financial Profiles, which had been owned by The Hanover Insurance Group, was founded by former insurance agent Gus Hansch and is the developer of the Profiles+ Professional and Profiles+Forecaster planning packages. EISI’s president and EO, Mark Evans, said in a prepared statement that “clients of both product lines will benefit from our combined expertise.” EISI said it will continue to “develop and fully support” both software packages.
