Genworth Financial Inc. announced that Richard P. McKenney has resigned his position as chief financial officer to take a similar role at Sun Life Financial, Toronto, Canada.
Victor C. Moses, chief actuary and senior vice president of capital markets at Genworth, Richmond, Va., will assume the added duties of acting CFO until the company names a permanent successor.
Genworth said it will begin an immediate review of both internal and external candidates to fill the CFO position.
McKenney had been part of the team of executives who took Genworth public more than 2 years ago. He “helped create tremendous shareholder value since that time, and we wish him well in his new endeavor,” said Michael D. Fraizer, Genworth’s chairman and chief executive officer.
