HealthAmerica will be basing a new health plan product on a new provider organization relationship.
HealthAmerica, Harrisburg, Pa., a unit of Coventry Health Care Inc., Bethesda, Md., has agreed to set up a new Lehigh Select plan that will incorporate 3 hospitals and about 900 doctors who belong to Valley Preferred, Allentown, Pa., a provider network that serves eastern Pennsylvania.
The Lehigh Select plan will be a 3-tiered plan. Members who use Valley Preferred providers will enjoy the lowest level of out-of-pocket expenses, while members who use other in-network doctors will have to pay more, according to HealthAmerica and Valley Preferred.
