NEW YORK (HedgeWorld.com)–Two longtime collaborators in energy investing, Peter C. Fusaro and Dr. Gary M. Vasey, have officially formed their own investment firm, Energy & Environment Capital Management LLC.

The pair has worked together since mid-2004, when they launched the Energy Hedge Fund Center, an online community offering information and discussion on energy and environmental investing. In October 2004 Mr. Fusaro and Mr. Vasey created the Energy Hedge Fund Directory, a listing of hedge funds specialized in energy as well as diversified vehicles providing exposure to energy. Earlier this week, the number of funds listed in the directory topped 500.

Mr. Fusaro has spent more than three decades in the energy industry, and in 1991 established Global Change Associates, a New York-based energy consultancy. He also launched the annual Green Trading Summit, held in New York each spring, and authored the book What Went Wrong at Enron.

Mr. Vasey has in the past worked as a geologist, consultant, software developer and energy industry analysis. He also served as vice president of trading and risk management practice for utilities consulting firm UtiliPoint International.

In addition to moderating the Energy Hedge Fund Center, Mr. Fusaro and Mr. Vasey co-edit the web site’s newsletter, Energy Hedge, and have written a book titled Energy & Environmental Hedge Funds–The New Investment Paradigm, to be published by Wiley in June.
