Personnel Changes: AXA, Scottish Re, Others

Stanley Tulin has announced plans to retire at the end of the year from his posts as vice chairman and chief financial officer of AXA Financial Inc.

Tulin will continue to be vice chairman emeritus of AXA Financial, New York, the company says.

Tulin has been AXA Financial’s CFO since 1996, and he has been a vice chairman since 1998. He also has been a member of the executive committee at AXA Financial’s parent company, AXA S.A., Paris.

In other personnel news:

- Scottish Re Group Ltd., Hamilton, Bermuda, has promoted Nathan Gemmiti to senior vice president and associate general counsel. Gemmiti has been company’s chief legal counsel for North American operations since May 2003.

- The American College, Bryn Mawr, Pa., has hired Linda Melson to be director of major gifts.

Melson previously owned a property-casualty insurance agency in Texas.

Melson holds the Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow and Chartered Life Underwriter professional designations. She is a past president of the Texas Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, Austin, Texas.

Melson also has served on the American College LUTC educational program advisory board, and she has been a Texas regional director for the college since 1997.

- ABD Insurance & Financial Services Inc., Redwood City, Calif., has hired Louie Miller to be team leader of the firm’s employee benefits practice in Denver.

Miller has been a benefits specialist in the Denver office of GCG Financial Inc.

- Bensinger, DuPont & Associates Inc., Chicago, an employee assistance program firm, has hired Isabelle Duguay to develop programs for workers who suffer from gambling addiction. Duguay has 12 years of experience in gambling addiction research and treatment, according to Bensinger, DuPont.
