Personnel Changes: Hartford, Allianz Life

Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. has hired Tom Tooley to be national accounts director for distribution of life insurance through national and regional broker-dealer firms.

Tooley previously was senior vice president of wirehouse life sales for Travelers Life and Annuity Company, which was part of Citigroup Inc., New York, and is now part of MetLife Inc., New York, according to Hartford, Simsbury, Conn.

Tooley has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts and holds the Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant professional designations.

In other personnel news:

- Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America, Minneapolis, says Denise Blizil, senior vice president of enterprise services, will be retiring at the end of 2006 after spending 20 years at Allianz Life and a predecessor organization, LifeUSA Insurance Company.

Blizil began working for LifeUSA in 1987, in the field compensation department. She has been chief administrative officer at Allianz Life since 2002, and she was responsible for overseeing the construction of a second building at the company’s headquarters.

Allianz Life is a unit of Allianz A.G., Munich.
