Many players in the retirement finance space have realized that providing savings vehicles is not enough: Providing people with the know-how to use these is just as important.
To this end, BISYS Retirement Services’ has been offering its ERISAEDGE program, a series of interactive, Web-based conferences on relevant legislative and regulatory topics for the retirement industry, since July 2005, and the company says reception has been phenomenal.
“The program has been extremely popular with our clients, drawing participation from more than 500 financial advisors and plan sponsors,” Bob Guillocheau, president of BISYS Retirement Services, said in a statement. “The program’s widespread interest demonstrates the need for information on complex compliance issues and developments.”
The company says ERISAEDGE has enabled attendees to stay abreast of important rule changes, topical information, and updates, including Roth 401(k) plans, Safe Harbor plans, cross testing, automatic enrollment plans, and new 401(k) regulations. Future session topics are expected to include the Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act (EGTRRA) restatements, compliance testing, and new retirement plan options.
