Glavin To Head MassMutual Unit

Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company has announced a series of executive changes.

MassMutual, Springfield, Mass., has named William Glavin Jr. to run its individual insurance group.

Glavin has been president of the company’s Babson Capital Management L.L.C. unit. He is succeeding Matthew Winter, who is taking a job at AIG American General Life Companies, a unit of American International Group Inc., New York.

Roger Crandall, chairman of Babson Capital, will take over as president of Babson, MassMutual says.

Glavin has a bachelor’s degree in economics and accounting from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass.
