Personnel Changes: Prudential, Conseco

The annuities arm of Prudential Financial Inc. is expanding its domestic annuity sales management team by adding 2 new positions.

Prudential, Newark, N.J., has named Rick Singmaster to be national sales director for the independent broker-dealer channel and Alex MacGillivrary to be national sales director for the wirehouse bank channels.

Singmaster has been a national sales manager at the annuities unit.

MacGillivrary previously was national sales manager for the independent channel at Lincoln National Corp., Philadelphia.

In other personnel news:

- Conseco Inc., Carmel, Ind., has hired 2 senior executives.

The company has hired Barbara Stewart to be senior vice president of strategic planning for its Conseco Insurance Group unit.

Stewart previously was a vice president for strategic development at H&R Block Financial Advisors, a unit of H&R Block Inc., Kansas City, Mo.

Stewart has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware and a master’s degree in marketing and finance from Cornell University. She also holds the Certified Financial Planner professional designation.

Conseco also has hired Mark Cecil to be vice president for new business development for the insurance unit.

Cecil previously was managing director of Independence Plus Inc., Kansas City, Mo. Cecil also served more than 20 years in the U.S. Navy and Navy Reserve before retiring from service in 2005.

Cecil has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Southwest Missouri State University and 2 master’s degrees, including a master’s degree in business, from the University of Missouri Kansas City.
