An insurer marketing life policies and annuities through banks says it now has a market presence in all states but New York.

VantisLife Insurance Company Inc., East Hartford, Conn., says it was recently accepted by regulators in New Mexico, Nebraska and Nevada to do business in those states, bringing the total number to 49. VantisLife will now focus on gaining admittance to the state of New York.

VantisLife, which sells exclusively through banks and credit unions, is known in Connecticut as the Savings Bank Life Insurance Company.

It had been domiciled solely in Connecticut until 2002, when it launched an expansion strategy. It now distributes its products through more than 40 bank and credit unions nationwide.

It has more than $4.2 billion of life insurance and nearly $600 million of annuities in force.
