A foundation affiliated with Medical Mutual of Ohio is donating $50,000 to the sponsors of the Cleveland Hispanic Adolescent Health Initiative.

Hispanic children are more likely than other children in the United States to be overweight, and Hispanic boys are particularly likely to grow up to suffer from heart disease and other weight-related health problems.

The health initiative grant will support a program that will try to work with Hispanic teenagers and their parents to prevent and cope with obesity, according to the Medical Mutual Charitable Foundation, which was formed by Medical Mutual, Cleveland.

Medical Mutual helped start the initiative in 2004, with another $50,000 grant.
