PowerShares Debuts Four ETFs

PowerShares Capital Management LLC debuted four exchange-traded funds on Tuesday, including two that focus on industry sectors and another that invests in water companies.

The Dynamic Hardware and Consumer Electronics Portfolio and the Dynamic Telecommunications & Wireless Portfolio focus on computer and telecom stocks. A third fund, the Water Resources Portfolio, buys companies that provide or treat water, or offer related technology or services.

PowerShares also introduced the Value Line Timeliness Select Portfolio, which tracks an index developed by Value Line that seeks to identify stocks with the potential to outperform the overall U.S. equity market.

The new funds, which increased PowerShares’ group of ETFs to 35, all trade on the American Stock Exchange.
