Berwyn Fund to Close

The Berwyn Fund (BERWX), a successful small-cap fund, will close to new investors on January 6 to keep its asset growth under control.

The $185-million fund was up 10.9% this year through the end of October, compared to a 2.4% gain by its small-cap value fund peers. The Berwyn fund has also topped similar funds and the Standard & Poor’s 500 index over the last five years. The portfolio is ranked 5 Stars by Standard & Poor’s.
