The Life and Health Insurance Foundation for Education has recognized a group of life insurance agents and brokers for their efforts to protect families and businesses against death and disability.[@@]

LIFE, Washington, has given its annual realLIFEstories Client Service Award prizes to Michael McGranahan of Fullerton, Calif.; Patrick Dickey of Lancaster, Pa.; Larry Young of Oxford, Ala.; Karen Shoff of Santa Monica, Calif.; and Richard Green of Woodstock, Ga.

Young may be responsible for the most dramatic of the 5 stories: He sold life insurance to protect the partners of a midsize manufacturing business. When a partner died in a plane crash, the life insurance helped 220-employee business survive, according to LIFE.

LIFE recognized the Client Service Award winners by publishing their stories in a special section in Newsweek and flying them to Baltimore for a ceremony at the annual convention of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Planners, Falls Church, Va.
