Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Company, Columbia, S.C., is introducing a supplemental health policy that can help workers who enter the hospital.[@@]

Colonial Life, a unit of UnumProvident Corp., Chattanooga, Tenn., says employers who adopt the new group hospital confinement indemnity product can add an accidental death rider, a prescription drug benefits rider and other riders to build on the basic indemnity coverage.

Premiums are based on age bands and do not increase with age, Colonial Life says.

Colonial Life operates under the name Colonial Supplemental Insurance.
