According to the most recent Investment Advisor reader poll, the majority of participating advisors feel that personal religious beliefs are just that–personal. When asked if their personal religious views affect the investment recommendations they make to clients, 53% answered that the two are separate issues and that they are hired for other than spiritual reasons.
The remaining respondents were pretty evenly split with 24% indicating that a client’s religious and moral views should inform their investment choices and 23% indicating that they have no hard and fast rule and always leave such choices up to the client.
