LIMRA International, Windsor, Conn., says one of its former presidents has died.[@@]

The former president, Ernest Cragg, led the nonprofit life insurance market research group from 1983 to 1992. He was living in Wilmington, Del, when he died, LIMRA says.

Before Cragg went to work for LIMRA, he was president of Washington National Corp., Lincolnshire, Ill.

Cragg had a bachelor’s degree from Carleton College, and he was active in the Republican Party in Delaware.

Richard Wecker, LIMRA’s current president, has issued a statement praising Cragg.

“Ernie Cragg will be remembered for his unique wit and charm, and his deep devotion to his family and to the insurance industry that he devoted his life to,” Wecker says in the statement.
