GENEVA (HedgeWorld.com)–American Express hired Jonathan Hulbert as its manager of fund of funds marketing to European institutional clients.

In this newly created position, Mr. Hulbert will head up the effort to build sales of the firm’s funds to European institutional investors, according to a company statement. He will report to Sam Perruchoud, chief investment officer of American Express Fund of Hedge Funds.

Previously, Mr. Hulbert was a relationship and marketing manager for Millennium Global Investments Ltd., a London hedge fund group.

American Express Financial Corp. reorganized its fund of funds operation earlier this year, combining its onshore and offshore businesses and making Mr. Perruchoud the unit’s head.

“We are delighted that Jon has joined us and look forward to working with him as he helps us to develop products and build relationships with this important client group,” Mr. Perruchoud said in a statement.

American Express’s fund of funds business now has assets under management of about US$1.3 billion. The funds of funds are targeted at non-U.S. investors. They are part of the American Express Alternative Investment Fund, a SICAV umbrella structure domiciled in Luxembourg.
