RICHMOND, Va. (HedgeWorld.com)–Frantzen Capital Management Inc., a long/short equity hedge fund manager, announced that it has hired Michael M. Via as its new president and senior portfolio manager.
Mr. Via takes over the presidency from Eric P. Frantzen, who founded the firm with his brother, Blair Frantzen, in 2002. Eric Frantzen will remain as chief executive officer (see Previous HedgeWorld Story).
“Frantzen Capital Management Inc. is comprised of some of the most seasoned investment professionals I know,” said Mr. Via in a statement. He will co-manage Frantzen Long/Short Fund LP and will serve as the management company’s director of research.
Mr. Via is the former president of A&S Capital Advisors, Richmond, Va., and in that capacity advised the Frantzen long/short fund.
