May 11, 2004 — Former Strong Funds stock pickers Christopher Wiles and Lawrence Eakin Jr. have joined Armada Funds.

The two growth-oriented investors have been added to the teams that oversee the Armada Large Cap Core Equity Fund/A (ACQAX) and the Armada Large Cap Growth Fund/A (AEQRX), a spokesman for Armada said.

Strong said Thomas Pence replaced the pair on the Strong Large Company Growth Fund/Inv (SLGIX), and Eric Crigler succeeded them on the Strong Large Cap Core Fund (SLCRX). Pence runs or helps manage three other Strong Funds, and Crigler also oversees the Strong Strategic Value Fund. Both look for stocks of growing companies.

Analyst Michael Halloran and a three-member “support staff” that worked with Wiles and Eakin at Strong have also joined Armada, the fund complex said.
