December 15, 2003 — The Teachers’ Retirement System of the State of Illinois has placed INVESCO Global Asset Management and MFS Institutional Advisors on its “watch list” due to possible enforcement actions by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The board noted that INVESCO currently manages a $609 million international equity fund, and MFS manages a $616 million domestic large-cap growth fund for the state teachers’ pension system.

As reported, both INVESCO and MFS are under investigation by regulators for trading abuses, including market timing.
