ICI Asks SEC to Curtail "Soft Dollars", Ban Directed Brokerage

December 15, 2003 — The Investment Company Institute said it will ask the Securities and Exchange Commission to dramatically curtail the use of soft dollars by all investment advisers, including mutual fund managers, and to ban mutual funds’ use of “directed brokerage.”
