CIGNA Adds Life Assistance Program For Group LTD Plans

NU Online News Service, Aug. 20, 2003, 12:03 p.m. EDT – CIGNA Corp., Philadelphia, has introduced a Life Assistance program in an effort to keep stress from hurting the productivity of workers covered by its group long term disability insurance plans.

The program offers telephone-based referrals for child care, senior care and other support services; crisis intervention services; counseling for emotional problems; and discounts on acupuncture, massage therapy, chiropractic services and other alternative medical services.

The program will provide benefits for workers’ immediate relatives as well as the workers themselves, CIGNA says.
