Thames River Snags Frank Russell Assignment

LONDON (HedgeWorld.com)–Frank Russell Co. Ltd. tabbed absolute return-focused investment firm Thames River Capital Ltd. as a manager in three of Russell’s manager of manager funds.

Thames River will take on a portion of each of the US$1.2 billion FRIC Continental European Equity fund, the US$130 million FRIC II Pan European Equity fund, and the US$700 million MSMM Pan European Equity fund, according to a Frank Russell statement. Thames River will be one of five managers of the Continental European fund and one of six investing the other two.

The portfolios will be overseen by Tony Zucker, head of European equities for Thames River, which manages US$2.4 billion in long-only and long/short strategies. Frank Russell, a subsidiary of the insurance company Northwestern Mutual, manages US$66 billion and about US$16 billion of that is in Europe.
