Regulators Give Their Perspectives at Association

WASHINGTON (HedgeWorld.com)–The Mid-Atlantic Hedge Fund Association has put together a panel of officials from the regulatory arena and in the hedge fund industry to discuss the regulatory issues surrounding the hedge fund industry.

“A Discussion of Regulatory Perspectives Concerning the Hedge Fund Industry” will be held on June 12 at 4:00pm in Washington. Regulatory participants include: U.S. Representative, Paul Kanjoski (D-Pa.), member of the financial services committee; Walter L. Lukken, commissioner at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and Gary L. Goldsholle, associate general counsel at the NASD regulatory policy and oversight division.

John J. Gaine, president of the Managed Funds Association, and David A. Vaughan, partner at the law firm of Dechert LLP will represent the hedge fund industry perspective, while Neal J. Wilson, managing director of FBR Investment Management, a hedge fund firm, will moderate the panel.

The MAHFA was organized last year to promote industry development and to be a resource to managers, investors, service providers and academics working in the mid-Atlantic region. The group’s first seminar was in March and was on current trends in the hedge fund industry Previous HedgeWorld Story.
