NU Online News Service, April 23, 2003, 10:45 a.m. EDT – Dental Connect Inc., Irvine, Calif., says eight large dental carriers are starting to accept electronic dental claims through its system.

A group of dental carriers financed the start of Dental Connect to help dentists convert to electronic claims submission. But the Dental Connect system is open to any carrier and any dentist that wants to use it, the company says.

The eight carriers now using the system are Aetna Inc., Hartford; Ameritas Life Insurance Corp., Lincoln, Neb.; Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, New York; MetLife Inc., New York; the dental unit of UnitedHealth Group Inc., Minnetonka, Minn.; and the Delta Dental plans in Michigan, New Jersey and Wisconsin.
