NEW YORK (HedgeWorld.com)–Mark D’Andrea will leave his post as managing director and global head of prime brokerage in Barclays Capital’s collateralized finance group on March 7.

Mr. D’Andrea primarily was a relationship manager with U.S. hedge funds, said Kevin Mirabile, head of the collateralized finance group at Barclays Capital. Mr. Mirabile said he would be working with Mr. D’Andrea to ensure a smooth transition and may have Mr. D’Andrea work with the firm on a consulting basis. After his departure, officials within Barclays will assume Mr. D’Andrea’s duties within the equity and fixed-income prime brokerage areas. Mr. Mirabile will pick up all of his client relationship-specific responsibilities.

In the immediate future, Mr. D’Andrea plans to work in a family business, spend time with his family and may at some point return to the hedge fund business, Mr. Mirabile said.
