Sullenger: MDRT More Than Motivational Support

Russ Alan Prince and Arthur Bavelas outlined very well the needs of todays producer in their Feb. 3 article. Unfortunately, they missed the opportunity to identify a solution to the problem, the Million Dollar Round Table.
Yes, the authors mentioned MDRT as a source of motivational support. It is that–and much more.
A quick scan of the table of contents for the 2002 MDRT annual meeting reveals more than 20 sessions dealing with technical issues. Several others addressed practice management issues, while others provided transferable ways to reach highly profitable clients.
MDRT members are able to attend these valuable sessions and to receive a free copy of the proceedings that contains a transcript of every presentation. These useful insights from the best in the profession make their way into the MDRT Web site and Round the Table magazine. They are also available to members and nonmembers in video, audiocassette and CD. They ultimately find their way into MDRT products and manuals as well.
This variety of support is what makes MDRT the premier association of financial professionals, and it is the reason that every company, brokerage operation and broker/dealer should encourage MDRT membership among its producers.
