NU Online News Service, Aug. 7, 12:20 p.m. – The HR-XML Consortium Inc., Raleigh, a nonprofit standards group, has released Version 2.0 of its XML specification for employee benefits plan enrollments.
The new version of the benefits enrollment specification supports more benefit plan types and is more flexible than the first version, the consortium says.
Insurers, third-party administrators, employers and others can use the specification to handle medical, dental and vision coverage; flexible spending accounts; and products such as life insurance and group disability insurance.
