NU Online News Service, July 16, 2:21 p.m. – URAC, Washington, a managed care quality group, has set up a Vendor Certification Program for organizations that sell support services to managed care companies.
The program is designed for health education content providers, pharmacy benefit managers, data management organizations and other companies that help managed care companies participate in URAC accreditation programs, URAC says.
URAC runs accreditation programs for utilization management, case management, claims management and disease management organizations.
Managed care organizations that use URAC-certified vendors will be able to share some responsibility for quality with the vendors when seeking URAC accreditation, URAC says.
