NU Online News Service, July 16, 6:25 p.m. – SCOR S.A., Paris, a large reinsurer, has started a research and development center that will study longevity and life insurance risks.

The center has formed a partnership with James W. Vaupel and Kirill Andreev, demographers who specialize in the study of rising life expectancy, and with the Demography and Health Team at INSERM, the French national institute for medical research.

The center will offer SCOR customers an insurance portfolio analysis service, SCOR says.
