June 11, 2002 — Strong Capital Management Inc. said Jeffrey Koch will step down as a co-manager of the Strong Corporate Bond Fund (STCBX) next month in order to devote more time to running high-yield bond funds.

John Bender and Janet Rilling, who currently oversee the Corporate Bond Fund with Koch, will continue as its managers.

Koch, who has helped pilot the Corporate Bond Fund since July 1991, will continue to manage the Strong High Yield Bond Fund (STHYX) and the Strong Short Term Hi Yld Bond Fund (STHBX), as well as two of Strong’s Advisor bond funds, a company spokeswoman said.

The Corporate Bond Fund was down 2.2% this year through the end of last month, while the average long-term, medium-quality bond fund was up 1.9%. The fund carries Standard & Poor’s Select Fund designation.

The High Yield Bond Fund, which Koch has run since December 1995, was off 1.8% this year through May, while the average low quality bond fund was up 1.5%.
