June 6, 2002 — The Hartford Mid Cap Fund (HFMCX), which had been closed to new investors for a year, has reopened for a limited time.

Hartford Mutual Funds said it will keep the fund open until Aug. 31, or until it sells $300 million in shares, whichever comes first. The fund had $1.3 billion in assets at the end of April.

Classified as a mid-cap growth fund by Standard & Poor’s, Hartford Mid Cap was up 3% this year through April, while its peers were down 5%.
