Security Life Chairman Now Emeritus After 46 Years

NU Online News Service, March 1, 2:01 p.m. – Security Life Insurance Company of America, Minnetonka, Minn., says Orem Robbins has taken the title of chairman emeritus.

Robbins founded the company in 1956 and has been the chairman ever since.

J. Stephen Beckman, a retired insurance executive who has been on the Security Life board since 1994, will become the chairman, and Gil C. Rohde Jr., a veteran insurance executive, will become the new president and chief executive officer, the company says.

Susan Albrecht, the previous chief executive, left Jan. 11 to take a job at the Fireman’s Fund Interstate Insurance Group, Chicago. Beckman filled in while the company looked for a permanent replacement, Security Life says.

Security Life is the main operating subsidiary of Security American Financial Enterprises Inc.. It sells life, dental and vision insurance.
