NU Online News Service, Sept. 12, 3:50 p.m. – The Financial Planning Association, Atlanta, has decided to cancel the Sept. 13-16 FPA Success Forum in San Diego in reaction to Tuesday’s wave of suicide plane attacks.

The Success Forum is a large meeting for financial planners and advisors.

“The enormity of today’s tragedy, combined with the uncertainty of travel and concern for individual safety for those who may have attended the conference, far outweigh the need to conduct this event as we enter a period of national mourning,” Guy Cumbie, the FPA president, said in a statement. “And we believe that those financial planners who may have attended Success Forum would prefer to be home assisting their clients at this time of crisis. We extend our deepest sympathy to the families of those who lost loved ones in the events that unfolded today.”
