AmerUs Authorized Buyback Of 3 Million Shares One-Sixth Of Float

NU Online News Service, Aug. 13, 10:36 a.m. – The AmerUs Group Company, Des Moines, Iowa, says its board has approved a program to buy back up to 3 million shares of AmerUs common stock, or about one-sixth of the 18 million shares now in the hands of public investors.

AmerUs sells individual life insurance policies and annuity contracts throughout the United States.

The company’s stock has been trading in August at prices ranging from $31 to $32 per share. The buyback program could cost a total of about $100 million at current share prices.
