FXpress Corp., a treasury risk management software producer, already made the leap to the Internet earlier this year, adding a Web-based treasury workstation called FXpress Interest Rate System Trader (FIRST) to its core desktop offering. The company launched FIRST with investment and debt modules. Now it's added foreign exchange and commodity modules, making the system a more complete treasury workstation solution. "We've taken all the existing functionality of our desktop product, moved it to the Web and added new functionality," says James Gilbert, director of operations and business development. He adds that a cash module will be added around the middle of next year. The latest version of FIRST has two layers of security features and costs less than a comparably equipped desktop version, since it's priced based on the number of users and transactions. Other new features include expanded general ledger capabilities and an improved daily workflow interface, for easier navigation.
