You're a benefits professional. You need to get more companies as clients. You compete with others in your area.
Getting appointments isn't that easy.
You don't have a serious marketing budget.
Can LinkedIn help you get in front of the right people?
Yes.
You know the LinkedIn story already.
LinkedIn has 214 million U.S. members. That's 77.4% of the population over age 18, according to Hootsuite. About 67 million companies are on LinkedIn, and 80% of the people on LinkedIn influence business decisions.
Since it's easy to use this resource for free, this is a prospecting resource that should not be ignored. Other professionals like you are using the platform: A search for "benefits professional" in the United States returns a list of 9,900 people.
And your ideal connections are out there: Another LinkedIn search, for "human resources" with a location in the United States, returned 2,860,000 results.
If a prospect has a profile, you can use LinkedIn to learn about that prospect.
What about business owners? Good question.
That result set is bigger. A search for "business owner" in the United States returned 9,210,000 results. Businesses come in all sizes. How many of the 9.2 million are in your local market?
So, how can you get the most out of LinkedIn?
