RIA Choreo has hired Jason Van de Loo, the former chief client officer, chief marketing officer and head of wealth management of Edelman Financial Engines, as its CEO.
"High-net-worth clients, including senior executives and owners of closely held businesses, increasingly have opportunities and challenges at the intersection of wealth management and financial and tax planning," Van de Loo said. "Choreo has positioned itself at this intersection, and I'm excited to join the firm as it's preparing to take this offering to the next level."
Chicago-based Choreo has roughly 7,000 clients with $27.2 billion in total assets under management as of Dec. 31.
Van de Loo, who spent a decade at Edelman Financial Engines, when the firm grew to top $250 billion in assets, is taking the Choreo reins from Larry Miles, who’s been CEO for four years. Miles will lead Choreo’s Strategic Partnerships group and focus on growing Choreo Partner Alliance, the firm’s CPA partner program.
In addition, Miles will work with Van de Loo to "add firms and advisors focused on delivering sophisticated tax-centric wealth management and financial planning solutions to clients across the country," Miles said in a statement.
