Bank of America-Merrill said it hired six financial advisors last week who work with combined assets of over $1 billion. They joined the firm from Morgan Stanley, UBS and Wells Fargo in California, New York, Minnesota, Texas and Virginia.

“Through strategic hiring, robust support for our existing advisors, and continued investment in our world-class training program, backed by the power of Bank of America, Merrill is strongly positioned for continued growth,” Kenneth Correa, head of business and client development at Merrill, said in a statement.

The advisors joining Merrill are:

  • Ben Meyers, who is based in the San Diego neighborhood of La Jolla, worked with Morgan Stanley for the past 14 years. He has managed $240 million in client assets and generated about $2 million in yearly production (or fees and commissions).
  • Doug Cochran also joined Merrill’s La Jolla office. His client assets at Morgan Stanley were $200 million, and his yearly production was $2 million. He spent the past 15 years at Morgan Stanley and has 33 years of industry experience.
  • Sam Fischer works in Austin, Texas, and oversaw $200 million in client assets at UBS, where his yearly production was $2 million. He has spent 28 years in the industry and began his career at Merrill, before moving to UBS in 2006.
  • Shajhan "John" Sabir is now with Merrill in Tysons Corner, Virginia. Previously with Wells Fargo, Sabir has managed $170 million in client assets and had $2 million in yearly production. Before spending close to 20 years at Wells Fargo, he was a financial advisor with Merrill (2001-2006).
  • Rick Rosati has moved to Merrill in Minneapolis. For the past 14 years, he worked at Wells where he oversaw $120 million in client assets and had about $1 million in annual production.
  • Burke Coleman is now with Merrill in Albany, New York. At UBS, where he worked for over 20 years, he managed about $100 million in client assets. He started his career at Merrill in 1989, was with Morgan Stanley from 1994 to 2003 and then joined UBS in 2007.
