Standard Insurance Company is exploring the concept of a family care disability insurance benefits trigger.
Standard, a unit of StanCorp Financial Group Inc., Portland, Ore. (NYSE:SFG), says a disability policy with that type of feature could pay benefits if an insured suffered a loss of income while caring for a family member with a serious health condition.
