Sharon Clark is the new commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Insurance.
Clark succeeds John Burkholder, an acting commissioner, who will return to his role as deputy commissioner, officials say.
The previous "permanent" commissioner was Julie McPeak.
Clark has been working for the Kentucky Finance and Administration Cabinet since December 2007. She also has worked for 5 years as director of the Kentucky's department's Consumer Protection and Education division.
