Guardian Life Insurance Company of America is giving Empire State benefits customers a thought to chew on.
Guardian, New York, says it will be offering a "monthly switch" option to sponsors of its New York dental plans.
The option will give members of programs that combine a dental health maintenance organization with a dental preferred provider organization plan the ability to switch between the HMO plan and the PPO plan every month.
Traditionally, dual-plan programs have let employees switch between HMO and PPO plans only once a while.
The cost of the HMO plan and the PPO plan is identical, Guardian says.
