ValueOptions Inc. has published a guide that discusses strategies employers can use to keep behavioral health problems from causing or aggravating employees' cardiovascular health.
ValueOptions, Norfolk, Va., a company that manages mental health and substance abuse problems for 24 million U.S. residents, notes that people with depression are more likely to develop heart disease and that people with heart disease are more likely to be depressed.
The guide covers ways to help individuals behaviors that need to be changed, and it provides suggestions about tools that can help individuals change their behavior for the better, Value Options says.
