Kaiser Permanente has picked Healthy Roads Inc. to run an exercise rewards programs for customer service employees who have health reimbursement arrangements.

HealthyRoads, a unit of American Specialty Health Inc., San Diego, will pay a cash reward of $150 to Kaiser HRA holders who work out at least 90 times during the year, according to American Specialty.

Kaiser, Oakland, Calif., provides health coverage for 8.3 million people.

In other wellness news, the Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey unit of Horizon Healthcare Services Inc., Newark, N.J., will be offering an automated employee communications system from Resolution Health Inc., Columbia, Md., to self-insured employers.

Employers can use the system to send personalized health advice and coupons to health plan members, according to Horizon.

Horizon provides or administers health coverage for 3.2 million people.
