UnitedHealth Group Inc. is starting to get serious about telling consumers how much tending to their teeth really costs.
Spectera UnitedHealthcare Dental, a unit of UnitedHealth, Minnetonka, Minn., that provides dental coverage for 6 million people, is introducing a Web-based dental treatment cost calculator that will tell members the cost of getting specific procedures done by specific dentists.
Members can compare the costs of different dentists in and out of the UnitedHealthcare dental network, according to UnitedHealth.
