Cresset, a Chicago-based RIA and multi-family office, said that Susie Cranston will become CEO on April 15. Cranston, who has been Cresset's president since April 2024, will also join the firm's board.

Co-founders Avy Stein and Eric Becker will remain executive co-chairs of the organization, which focuses on ultra-high-net-worth clients.

"When Eric and I founded Cresset, our goal was to build a firm designed to serve families with care, alignment and integrity for generations," Stein said. "Susie embodies those principles … . Formalizing her role as CEO reflects the leadership she has already been demonstrating and positions Cresset well for the future."

Before joining Cresset, Cranston advised private clients and held senior leadership roles at First Republic Bank and JPMorgan Chase.

Cranston "has played a central role in strengthening Cresset's culture, supporting our advisors and reinforcing a client-first approach across the firm," Becker said in a statement. "She brings both discipline and empathy to her leadership, and we are confident in the path forward with her as CEO."

Cresset had about $65 billion in client assets last year, according to Forbes. In late 2024, the RIA firm secured a $150 million minority investment from Constellation Wealth Capital, giving it an equity stake of under 10%; employees and clients are the firm's majority business owners.
