Five years after the pandemic, everyone is back in holiday mode.

People are partying, with events at the homes of friends, the homes of clients and your own home. People also know that you are a financial advisor. This might be their opportunity to get answers to questions they would pose to a financial professional.

A lot is going on here: You are on stage. And while this is a conversation between two people, others are watching. They might have strong opinions but want to hear your perspective first. The question they ask might reveal another, more important question beneath the surface.

You might be tempted to give a facetious answer, especially if you are asked to predict the future. But if you give an insightful answer that offers practical information, they and others will be impressed. They will know that their question was taken seriously. You might even get texts or phone calls on Monday morning.

See the accompanying gallery for 10 questions that an advisor might get at holiday parties.
