The National Association of Registered Social Security Analysts, a certification and education organization helping financial professionals improve their knowledge about Social Security claiming strategies, announced Tuesday that it has entered a strategic partnership with Social Security Advisors.
Social Security Advisors has more hands-on Social Security planning, filing and troubleshooting experience than any other private company in the country, NARSSA’s co-founder and president Martha Shedden told ThinkAdvisor.
“This new partnership will combine the forces and experience of the top two leading Social Security advisory firms by providing Americans with the most complete suite of tailored services needed to help maximize their Social Security benefits,” Shedden said.
Via the partnership, registered social security analysts (RSSAs) will be able to collaborate directly with Social Security Advisors' staff experts to file applications for Social Security benefits and troubleshoot unique cases involving benefit applications. Perhaps even more important, according to Shedden, is Social Security Advisors’ ability to file and manage appeals cases when particular benefit applications are denied by the Social Security Administration.
During the interview, Shedden shared a number of case studies drawn from Social Security Advisors’ client service experience, including cases where their experts successfully appealed benefit rejections and secured hundreds of thousands of dollars in back benefits and future payments.
“It’s just a very impressive set of expertise and capabilities,” Shedden said. “All of their employees have a minimum of 15 years or more of Social Security experience, including many of who worked as technical experts for the SSA. They are really, really familiar with all the rules and operations manuals, so their ability to help advisors and their clients navigate the appeals process is truly unparalleled.”
For their part, SSA’s staffers will also benefit from the partnership, Shedden noted, by gaining access to NARSSA’s Social Security roadmap software and related marketing and business development resources.
In a statement shared with ThinkAdvisor, Matthew Allen, co-founder and CEO of Social Security Advisors, said it is a “pleasure to be partnering with Shedden and the NARSSA to help even more Americans maximize their Social Security and obtain all the benefits that they deserve."
“For too long, Americans have missed benefits because of a lack of proper planning and advice, and we are proud to be helping to change this,” Allen said. “We look forward to making our 17 years of Social Security planning, filing, and troubleshooting experience available to RSSAs and their clients.”
