An LPL Financial sign in San Diego
LPL Financial said Tuesday that a three-member advisory team serving about $1.1 billion in advisory, brokerage and retirement plan assets has joined from RBC.
Advisors DJ Totland and Christopher Meyer, with support from Rob Tendler and the Harbor Lights Financial Group — an existing firm supporting LPL-affiliated advisors — have come together to form Lighthouse Private Wealth.
Lighthouse Private Wealth joined LPL Financial’s broker-dealer and RIA platform.
Located in Red Bank, New Jersey, Totland, Meyer and Tendler have worked together for 20 years. Their clients include high-net-worth individuals, small-business owners and families.
“Chris and I are a very high-touch and service-oriented pair," Totland said in a statement. "We act as fiduciaries to our clients and we are proud that we have achieved the CFP designation."
Lighthouse is "excited about being able to customize and use specific technology in an ‘a la carte’ fashion," Meyer added in the statement. "LPL is one of the biggest players in this area now and has shown that they are among the best. Also, after always working for a wirehouse or regional broker-dealer, we wanted to become our own bosses. The most important thing to us was being our own business owners and being able to run a business the way we want to run it."
Scott Posner, managing director of business development at LPL, said: "At LPL, we understand that advisors are looking for sophisticated capabilities and the autonomy to build and grow their practice according to their unique vision. We look forward to supporting DJ, Chris, Rob and their vision for years to come.”
